Work an offer another agent shared with you
When a REHL agent shares an offer with you, you see it in your REHL account, a free one if you did not already have REHL or your own paid account if you did, once the two of you have verified each other's license, and you negotiate your own side from there.
Open the invite
- Open the link in the invite email. If you already have a REHL account, free or paid, at the address the invite was sent to, sign in with it; otherwise sign up for a free one with that address. On a paid account your seat needs Offers edit access (most agent seats have it by default); a viewer seat, or one set to Offers read-only or none, is refused.
- Confirm the address. A new account confirms it at sign-up; an existing account whose sign-in address was never confirmed gets a six-digit code to it now.
- Choose Open the shared offer. It is added under Offers shared with you, on your Offers page.
A link that was already used, has expired (after 14 days), or was withdrawn cannot be opened. Ask the agent who sent it for a new one.
Verify each other's license
Before any terms are shown, you and the agent who shared the offer each verify the other's real estate license with the state that issued it. Until both of you have, you see only the property address and their name, license, brokerage, phone and email, and they see only what you entered at sign-up.
- Look up their license. When REHL knows that state's license lookup page, the card links to it.
- Tick the sentence, which names the agent, their state, their license number and that state's licensing authority.
- Choose Verify their license.
The offer opens once both of you have verified. If either agent's license on file changes later, the verification about it stops counting and the offer closes again until it is verified again. If the agent who shared it has no license state and number on file, there is nothing to verify yet: call them and ask them to add it.
What you see
- Where the offer stands: its status, whose turn it is, when it expires and the closing date.
- The current terms and every round, with the side that proposed each one.
- Its history: submitted, presented, countered, agreed, declined, withdrawn, expired, or the listing sold to another buyer.
- The documents on which you are a signer.
You never see the other agent's notes or contacts, the buyer's name or contact details, other offers on the property, or documents you are not signing. A buyer's pre-approval amount, lender and date show only if the buyer chose to share them.
Your side of the deal
Your side follows from the offer. If the agent who shared it holds the listing, you are the buyer's agent; if they represent the buyer, you are the listing side. When the other side's latest round is waiting on you, you can:
- Counter it. Change at least one term (price, deposit, financing, escrow holder, inspection period, closing date, respond-by time, buyer-broker compensation), add a note to the other agent if you like, and choose Send counter.
- Record the executed contract. This opens only once both sides have signed that round's contract through REHL Sign: enter the effective date written on it.
- Decline this round. This ends the negotiation: as the listing side it declines the offer, and as the buyer's agent it withdraws it.
Once your round is on the table, you wait for the other side to respond. If they send a new round while you are editing, REHL asks you to start from the new terms. Every action you take rings the bell of the agent who shared the offer.
The purchase contract itself is still signed through the REHL Sign document the other agent sends, which arrives by email with its own signing link. Your counters, your files, and sending a document for signature (below) all need the other agent's plan to include Offers.
Send your own document for signature
Choose Send a document for signature to get your own paperwork, proof of funds, a disclosure, or another document, signed through REHL Sign from your own side. Upload the PDF and add your signers: every signer has to be on your own side, so REHL refuses anyone on the other agent's brokerage or their buyer. The envelope stays separate from the purchase contract and can never be used to record one; it shows under Documents you sent for signature, with the status of each one and a link to the signed copy once it is done.
Files
Under Your side of the deal, choose what a PDF is (proof of funds, a pre-approval letter, an inspection report, a disclosure, or other), pick the file (up to 4 MB) and choose File on the offer. The other agent sees it, marked as from the other agent. You see only the files you filed. This is a plain attachment, not a signed document: use Send a document for signature instead when you need someone on your own side to actually sign it.
The offer disappeared from Offers shared with me.
The agent who shared it can remove your access at any time, and it ends at once. Call them if you think it was a mistake.
